Both the museum and the café are closed on Christmas Day (25 December) and New Year's Day (1 January).

Accessibility: special facilities

The museum is suitable for visitors with reduced mobility and is largely accessible for wheelchairs. All the floors are accessible by lift and there are benches and portable museum stools on every floor.

There are two disabled toilets, both situated on the ground floor.

  • NB: The third floor is only accessible via the lift and the staircase on the south side, on the second floor. Exhibitions on the third floor have limited access for visitors in a wheelchair.

There is a disabled parking space in the museum’s own car park. Q-park parking garage Bonnefanten does not have a lift!

By Public Transport from Maastricht Central Station:

  • Bus line 1 direction of De Heeg
  • Bus line 5 direction of Heugem
  • Bus line 57 direction of Gulpen
  • Bus line 78 IC to Liège
  • Bus line 350 direction to Aachen Centrum

Reaching the museum by car / Parking

There is a disabled parking space on the museum parking lot. Navigation: Enter 'Daemslunet' to get to the museum parking lot.

Parking garage within walking distance
  1. Q-park garage Plein 1992
  2. Q-park garage Bonnefanten*. There is no lift in this parking garage, only a staircase. This garage is therefore not suitable for parking when using a wheelchair or other supporting means.

From 25 February onwards, there are no more corona measures for your museum visit.

However, we do ask you to consider the following basic measures:

  • Mandatory 1.5-metre distance is not required but give each other some space.
  • Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly.
  • Cover and sneeze into your elbow.
  • Stay at home in case of complaints and get yourself tested immediately. If you have booked a ticket online, you can move it to another time, free of charge.
  • No shaking hands.

The requirement to wear a mouth mask has been dropped, but you may still wear a mouth mask if you feel comfortable doing so. We provide sufficient fresh air and ventilation in the museum.
If you have any questions during your visit to the museum, please ask one of our staff.
There are also no corona measures for a visit to museum café Ipanema. A corona ticket, a fixed seat, wearing a mouth mask and keeping a distance of 1.5 metres are no longer required.
