Ready to craft, fold draw and tying knots? For visitors from 6 to 106 years old!
At the Do-It-Yourself-Lab, anyone who is creative and curious can roll up their sleeves and create an artwork or go exploring. There are several DIY Labs on the first and second floors of Bonnefanten.

Knots
Artist Shinkichi Tajri created the four-knot artwork Four times Two (4x2), after which the exhibition is named. Get creative and make connections by knotting, just like the artist. Use the examples you find in the baskets. Or take a Kijkwijzer (viewing guide), go on a journey and see if you can connect works in your imagination.

Textile
Artist Ferdi created brightly coloured fantasy flowers, plants and insects, known as Hortisculptures. In a greenhouse in the Four times Two exhibition, there is an iron plant stem that is just waiting for you to decorate it! There are lots of soft pieces of fur, yarn and fabric. Step into Ferdi's shoes and knit, crochet, cut and sew beautiful pieces of fabric that you can attach to the iron stem and stalks.

The key to Saint Servatius
Go on a hunt in the museum for the real key of Saint Servatius! But how can you recognise it among all the other keys? Once you have found it, you can draw your own version and hang it up in the museum. Just like the medieval pilgrims, you can then take home your own pilgrim badge: a special iron-on patch as a souvenir of your quest.

Studio Paper Hat
People in the 16th century often wore headgear, usually made of leather or fabric. In this lab, we stick to paper. Using various designs, you can fold a fantastic hat yourself.
Making little chapels
Among the old art paintings at Bonnefanten stands Church I (2018) by Helen Verhoeven. Walking into this little wooden building, you meet silence, as if you were entering a church with real stained-glass windows. You can recreate the little chapel in paper. Find the construction sheet, cut out the chapel and don't forget to give it a striking colour. You can take your artwork home or display it in the Do-It-Yourself-Lab.
