Bonnefanten takes the following measures to make your visit as comfortable and safe as possible:

Ticket sales
  • It is mandatory to book your timeslot online, so we can ensure visitor distribution and anticipate on possible crowds.
  • You have to a wear a face mask during your visit if you're 13 years or older.
  • Tickets are sold online and offered in timeslots of up to 15 people per time slot.
  • Even if you have a 'Museumkaart', Bonnefanten Student Card or another discount card, you can also book your ticket online. When visiting the museum, you will show the online ticket and the relevant discount card at the entrance desk.
  • You can show your ticket on your smartphone or a printed version at the entrance desk.
  • The maximum number of online tickets to be booked per person is 4.
  • The booked time slot is stated on the ticket. Be on time!
    Report at the entrance. Are you arriving earlier? Do not join the queue until your time slot starts. This prevents crowds.
  • Do not come to the museum more than 15 minutes before your reserved time slot, to ensure there is no gathering outside.
  • If you turn up late you can be refused for safety reasons.
  • There is no time limit for your museum visit, only a fixed start time by using time slots.
  • In case of health complaints, the ticket can be exchanged free of charge for another date.
During your museum visit     
  • We ask you to keep your jacket on and your bag with you. Dress lightly, a bag can be up to an A4 in size.    
  • The cloakroom and lockers are limitedly available.    
  • A fixed route has been mapped out in the museum to avoid crowds and traffic jams. Please be aware of this when entering the museum and when leaving the museum.    
  • Keep a distance of 1.5 m from your fellow visitors everywhere, both in the queue outside and at the ticket desk, in the entrance hall and in the museum.    
  • Stay together as a family or household.    
  • At the ticket desk, you can clean your hands before entering the exhibitions with disinfectant hand gel.    
  • We provide as much information as possible in the museum and per exhibition space, so that everyone is aware of the necessary precautions. Please take the indicated maximum capacity per museum hall into account.    
  • The museum shop is open during your visit. Due to custom routing, you can only go there when you leave the museum. A maximum of 8 people may be present in the shop at the same time. Only contactless / debit card payment is possible.    
  • The toilets on all floors are open and usable during your visit.    
  • The museum, toilets and contact points are intensively cleaned. This also applies to door handles, bannisters and other contact objects.    
  • As always, our attendants will guard the art and provide you with information. They will now also ensure that the 1.5-meter rule is followed. They will address visitors if necessary.
  • There is no access to the museum from museum café Ipanema.
  • Strollers and buggies are welcome in the museum.
  • The lift is reserved for visitors who are less mobile and for families with a pram or buggy.
  • There is a limited number of seating options in the museum. For visitors who are less mobile, please contact us before your visit at
  • It is not possible to visit the museum with a guide or in a group and it is not possible to book guided tours.
Extra attention
  • Do you have health complaints (cold, flue etc), stay at home.
  • You have to a wear a face mask during your visit if you're 13 years or older.
  • Keep 1.5 meters distance from your fellow museum visitors.
  • Wash your hands regularly with soap and water.
  • Cough and sneeze into the inside of your elbow.
  • Use tissues.
  • Do not shake hands.
