The exhibition series The Studio provides a stage for small scale solo presentations on which artists may present recent developments in their work

In this second edition of The Studio it's Morena Bambergers (Roermond, 1994) turn, who presents a new, space-filling artwork as a result of a journey to Switzerland.

Stimulate the work of a young Limburgian artist

Morena Bamberger, from Roermond, is the first artist to receive the Limburg Beeldende Kunst (LBK) Stipendium, a grant for fine art awarded by the Netherlands Province of Limburg. The objective of the LBK Stipendium is to stimulate the work of a young Limburgian artist, with the aim of raising the recipient's visibility and bringing their work to the attention of a wider public. Morena Bamberger will stay at the Jan van Eyck Academie in October and November 2019 , after which her work will be exhibited in the project space of the Bonnefantenmuseum. The Stipendium comprises a donation from the Province of Limburg of €5,000 for the production of new work.

The Limburg Beeldende Kunst (LBK) Stipendium

Establishment of the LBK Stipendium was accorded to Lex ter Braak on retirement from his directorship of the Jan van Eyck Academie in June 2018. The name changed later into the Limburg Beeldende Kunst (LBK) Stipendium, after a commision was formed with Lex ter Braak, Stijn Huijts (director of the Bonnefantenmuseum) and Joep Vossebeld (artist, curator and author) who take joint responsibility for selecting the recipient of the LBK Stipendium.

Ger Koopmans, deputy for Culture of the Province of Limburg, opens the exhibition on November 24th in the Bonnefantenmuseum.
