NAVID NUUR:  LUBE LOVE

The Bonnefanten is taking part in Pinkpop for the third time in a row, with the
Bonnefanten@Pinkpop-up museum at Kalm Aan Laan. In partnership with the BankGiro Lottery, the museum is presenting the exhibition LUBE LOVE by Dutch artist Navid Nuur (Teheran, 1976) in the pavilion at the festival ground.

Navid Nuur

Navid Nuur is an artist with immense creativity and powers of imagination, which he deploys unerringly in a varied visual repertoire. Using all sorts of materials and techniques, he has no problem getting people to work – whether by physically making and shooting arrows or else by using their brain at full power when looking at his work.
Over the past ten years, Navid Nuur's star has gradually risen in the international art world. He has held solo exhibitions in the Matadero art centre in Madrid, Parasol Unit in London and Centre Pompidou in Paris. He has received the Royal Award for Modern Painting (2011) and the prestigious Discoveries Prize at the first edition of Art Basel in Hong Kong (2013).

LUBE LOVE

This year, the Bonnefanten@Pinkpop-up museum has been transformed into a playground. The exhibition in the pavilion is a follow-up to Nuur's successful solo exhibition LUBE LOVE, which was held in the Bonnefantenmuseum in Maastricht in 2013. Especially for this occasion, the concept has been turned into a compact version, which also includes new works.
In his artworks, Nuur likes to show the viewer the way to the subconscious; to a world in which everything appears to be connected to everything else. It is not comfortable work, but rather work that makes you think and even prompts you to take concrete action.
