Bitches Brew brings together three artists who, each in their own way, explore the boundaries between emotion and reality. During this expressive drawing and painting workshop, you are invited to enter the artistic world of Aline Thomassen together with artist Anisa El Margai. The workshop takes place between the artworks of Aline Thomassen’s exhibition I am You– You are Me.

About the workshop

Have you ever noticed the traces of hands and feet in Aline Thomassen’s paintings? Thomassen engages her entire body in the act of painting. Movement, intuition and emotion become active elements within her creative process, resulting in works that reveal personal experiences, emotions and thoughts.

Artist Anisa El Margai also explores the relationship between lived experiences and artistic expression. In this workshop, she invites participants to move beyond thoughts and create through the body. Not in search of a perfect outcome, but through curiosity, experimentation and the discovery of what emerges.

What to expect

Together with Anisa El Margai, you’ll explore how movement, attention and physical awareness can inspire new forms of visual expression. Through movement exercises, based on the body-mind technique, you will create space for focus, presence and creativity. Working with a variety of materials, you will then investigate what happens when you release expectations and allow the body to guide the creative process.
