Unique in the Netherlands
Acquisition of painting by Laura Owens

The Bonnefantenmuseum has been able to make a special acquisition of a large painting by Laura Owens (1970 Euclid, Ohio), thanks to support from the BankGiro Lottery and the Mondriaan Foundation. It is an important work from 2003 (Untitled), which was shown in the summer of 2007 in the museum's exhibition Paintings & studies 1994 – 2006. The Bonnefantenmuseum is the only Dutch museum to have work by Owens in its collection and is thus reinforcing its own image. "An intriguing work will be added to the Dutch Collection", in the words of the Mondriaan Foundation.

At the moment, the painting can be admired on the 2nd floor, where the collection of contemporary art is displayed.
