The Limburg Conservation Institute (SRAL - Stichting Restauratie Atelier Limburg)
In the Bonnefantenmuseum the SRAL has a private room on the first floor. This open workshop of the SRAL (Limburg Conservation Institute) is a very special space in the collectionpresentation on the first floor. The public can follow (on Tuesdays) live the extensive restoration campaigns of artefacts from the museum's collection. The secrets that works for us may retain are all unraveled, or uncovered, here.
The SRAL, founded in 1988, carries out restoration work and research and provides advice only to non-private organizations. With funding from the Province of Limburg, SRAL works for a small fee for Limburg museums, art rooms and religious institutions. Outside the province of Limburg the SRAL restores for many museums, the Government Buildings Department and the Department for Conservation. Assignments outside the Netherlands are also recruited.
