PODIUM FOR YOUNG TALENT

The Bonnefanten has a double celebration this year! The museum celebrates it's 125th year and it's the 5th edition of  M2LIVE.  All the more reason not to miss the Party of the Year on January 17th starting at 14.00 and lasting all night long.

For Young People By Young People

In 2005 we had 1200 visitors and this year we expect four times as many visitors.  Everyone are welcome to come and it's FREE!  So no matter where you go to school or how old you come to the biggest party ever.  Organized by young people from The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany with the help of professionals from the museum, they have worked over two monthes long to bring M2LIVE to the stage.

Performances

There is modern ballet to lounge, experimental performances to cabaret and lives bands.  Even a prize for the best film chosen by 3 professional jury members.  There are over 100 performances on 4 different podiums - dance bands, DJ's, poetry, classical music, art trips (in Dutch) and more. There is something to do all day long …you won't want to miss it.

More Art

Because we are an art museum we want to relate this Museummarathon as much as we can to our art collection. Last year we took the first steps and this year we are continuing the art programme with the second edition of the M2live Filmprize and Meet the artscene. 

Filmprize

The M2live Filmprize Award ceremony will take place during the official opening at 2 o'clock. The winning films and a selection of the best entries will be shown in the 2 filmrooms on the second floor. Scattered around the museum there a tv's showing trailers of the films and inviting de public to come to the filmrooms.

Meet the artscene

We have invited young artists to exhibit their work in one of the most powerful rooms of the museum, the dome. This one-day exhibition is open to the public from 11.00-17.30 and  from 19.00 to 22.30 hrs. The young artists will discuss their work with a panel of known artists and museum curators.
On the museum square a group of art school students will build a 'monument for one day'

Afterparty

M2LIVE 2009 finishes the night with a hip dance party in Cafe Ipanema from 23.00 until 2 in the morning with the Hollywood Porn Stars and one of the best DJ's in town, DJ Sticky Dojo.
