Seminal Collection Limburg
1870-1970

A collection of artists who were either born or who worked in the province of Limburg in the years between approximately 1870 and 1970. Together, their work makes up the Limburg Collection. This project was the result of the Limburg Collection project, set up in 1999 with the help of a generous support from DSM. In order to create a cohesive collection of 'Limburg Moderns', the museum has studied, evaluated, reorganised and extended its own collection as well as the recently donated collection of the Limburg Art Collection Foundation (Stichting Limburgs Kunstbezit).

All art museums in the province of Limburg have supported this project. An exhibition (From Cuypers to Dibbets, October 2002) finalized this project. Persentations of the Seminal Collection has been and will be on show in various museums in Limburg after the exhibition has come to an end.
